Like much of the world, I am deeply saddened by the recent events in Canada. My thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of those who were lost, as well as for the spirit and strength of the Canadian people — some of whom are followers and readers of this blog. As your national anthem proclaims:
“With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!”
With all the sadness in the world, it’s no wonder I retreat to my garden on a daily basis.
I so agree with you — and with each new headline, it seems that my time in the garden grows.
Lovely post. There is so much sadness in the world, but the strength and kindness of so many brings me hope.
It’s a shame, though, that it takes this sort of violence to make kindness shine. . .
I hate it when awful things like this happen. I hear my parents every time I say to myself “what is this world coming to?”
Sadly, I think people have been asking that question for centuries and centuries — it just feels, probably because of the 24-hour newsfeed, that we’re inundated with tragedy.
