Red, White & Bloom — and Gnomes?

Gnome“Hi everyone.  It’s me, the Gnitty Gritty Dirt Gnome, giving Kevin a hand with this week’s post.  Before we get into some patriotic petals, I want to remind all of you that there’s still time to get yourself in the running to win two books.  Yup, two books — and both of them are all about gnomes.

“The first is Kevin’s copy of Gnomes, a classic if ever there was one. Lots of imaginative illustrations and stories about the lives and adventures of my peeps.  The other book is Garden Gnomes: A History, by Dr. Twigs Way, and it explains the lore of  we wee folk.

“To read Kevin’s interview with Dr. Way and to leave a comment to be entered into the drawing, please click here and/or here.

“And now, for the red, the white, and the blooms.  You know, if you squint, you can practically see the fireworks.”

“Happy Independence Day!”

    • Hope you had a enjoyable fourth. I’ve taken the holiday weekend off and now I’m catching up on comments and blogging duties — but it was fun and filling! 🙂

  1. I never thought about the possibility of planting a patriotic garden. I might think of being more intentional in the red, white and blue color scheme next year. Garden gnomes…I’ll have to see what you’ve been up to, Kevin. I think I may have missed a post! Hmmmm. Happy 4th!

  2. I love gnomes…wish I had some. I have a very red and white theme going on in front and the back has seemed to take on a life of purple and reds not sure why seems like its what caught my eye this year. Hope you had a wonderful 4th!

    • Hi Cathy. I think gnomes have been given a bad reputation — every garden should have at least one (although my garden is still missing one — hopefully, one will find me). 🙂
